Who? Star Trek: The Continuing Mission follows the adventures of the Trieste class starship, USS Montana under the command of Starfleet veteran, Captain Edwards. See the “The Crew” page for more information about the command officers on TCM.
When? The pilot episode “Ghost Ship” begins in the 23rd century around the time of the second Star Trek feature film, “The Wrath of Khan” and after the unexpected and rather deadly turn of events the USS Montana and her crew end up in the 24th century, approximately 5 years before the missions of Captain Picard and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Once they arrive in the 24th century they cannot get back to their own time and the series takes place in the new time period.
Why? Star Trek: The Continuing Mission started as an idea with Executive Producer, Andy Tyrer and he quickly asked his friend and now fellow Executive Producer, Sebastian Prooth, to join him in the concept creation, development and show-running of the challenging new frontier of audio Star Trek. While Sebastian handles the directing and day to day show-running of the programme, Andy is the chief of the editing suite. Both Executive Producers have been involved in every step of the writing process for most of the first season, penning episodes together and alone to create the backbone of what they hope will become the next popular Star Trek series!
How? Star Trek: The Continuing Mission is recorded with a world-wide cast and crew. Free internet telephony via Skype makes this possible. The lines, effects and music for the show are edited in Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas and other audio applications. Please listen the “Behind the Scenes” podcasts for more information on the making of Star Trek: TCM.
